The more times you go to Jamaica, the more friends you meet.  There is nothing more exciting than spending months planning a trip with friends near and far.  Dwayne and I arrived a day ahead to be able to assist Phoenix with any last minute details and to be fresh when the 'crews' arrived the next day.  Traveling can just wear you out.

The theme days and nights were all planned and we were excited to see just how many folks would be indulging in the fun.  Well we were not disappointed as most everyone participated in full costumes for our events.  They included:

Jamaica is always hot in July, but so is everywhere else!  Surely not a reason to enjoy the Caribbean breezes and cool drinks.  Grown and Sexy Crew joined CM4M, BSC for some of the best time Jamaica has to offer.  This wonderful time was spent at Hedo III in Runaway Bay!  We were almost 400 strong and colorful this week. Cee Cee Peniston was fabulous and the parties were beyond...beyond! But since pictures speak a thousand words, see for yourself.     October 2009 Trip Report and Photos

Jamaica welcomed us with hot weather when we arrived late afternoon on October 7th.  Dwayne and I arrived early to be able to spend some time with our new friends at Gold 'n Dayz and BSC.  We met up with Jessica Holter of the Punany Poets on the lay over in Miami. Des was up front when we all arrived with open arms.  We quickly checked in, changed and headed back to the main dining hall.  Most of the first afternoon was just spent unwinding from the long trip.  We met Des and her team and some of the other early arriving guests for dinner at Pastafari, Hedo IIs italian restaurant for dinner.  After dinner we took a spin in the disco for a couple of hours, but then turned in around 11 as we were wiped out.

The day of the 8th, everyone arrived...by the bus loads, all day, more than 150 of us!  Shuttle buses starting pulling in around 10:30am and people were arriving well after 6pm that night.  It didn't take long for the veterans of Hedo to get out of their clothes an into their swim suits.  Some headed straight to the nude beach and we didn't see them again until the first night's meet and greet.  The Meet and Greet was held at the disco and the attire was white linen for the fellas and sexy as hell for the women!  Let me tell you...sexy was in the house.  I've never seen so many sexy white outfits on so many women of so many different sizes and beautiful shades of women of color! But don't get me wrong, the brothers represented quite well.  Both Jessica of the Punany Poets and the Comedian Tre gave us samples of their upcoming performances...the good times had truly begun.

After that we went up to dinner in the main dining hall where the resort was having it's traditional toga night.  Some folks changed to be part of the festivities.  A few hours later we went back to the disco and nobody was there.  We went over to the nude jacuzzi...and hardly anyone was there.  So now we're thinking...are there some private parties going on that we don't know about?  So Dwayne and I headed back to our room for a couple of hours of "private time" and about 12:30am we headed out to the nude jacuzzi and *poof* there was everyone saying, "Where the hell ya'll been?"  Perhaps they all just went to take a nap after dinner.  Well there we joined the folks and drank and talked and soaked in the hot tub until the wee hours of the morning.

The next couple of days was filled with getting to meet folks from all over the country.  There was almost a 50/50 mix of single guys and gals and people coupled up (married, dating, engaged).  You were never without conversation, if you wanted it, never without a fun drinking game in the pool, or a volleyball game.  You couldn't have been with a more fun, open and laid-back group of people.  You ever think...why can't more people be like me and just let folks do their thing?  Well...they were all here this week. It was a drama-free week.  Or at least nobody bothered Dwayne, Cinderella, Ray and I!

The afternoon prude beach pool parties were the best.  The caribbean tried to rain us out with a quick shower, but nobody left.  There was an impromtu "big booty" shaking episode on top of the pool (stick) table, which is in the pool!  I couldn't enter that one...not enough butt!  The DJs played everything from new school to old school!  You heard all of us over 40 going, "oooohhh, that was the jamm!"  "You don't know nuthin bout that yungin!" every time an oldie but goodie came on.

Gold 'n Dayz kept the days and nights pumping with as many activities as you wanted or the beach was available all day with a beach chair or a lazy couple of hours on the float in the caribbean sea.  The neon glow in the dark party was too much fun!  You can tell who the creative people were as you started to see those glow in the dark bracelets turning up in all types of places you would have never...ever thought to wear them.  The last full day took folks over to Ricks Cafe for some cliff diving.  A lot of people actually jumped from the 20' cliffs into the sea...nope...not me, maybe next time.  The last night was retro night (someone send me some pics)!  Folks had on their afro wigs (with fist pic), bell bottoms and 4 inch platform shoes...and I'm talking the guys!

All in all, this was our best trip EVER!  We partied with old friends and met new ones that will surely last a long time. As we said, it was so nice...we're doing it twice!  So get your deposits in for the 2010 Invasion at Hedo III in Runaway Bay Jamaica.  We'd love to challenge you to a game of naked volleyball.  Okay, you don't have to play volley ball.  See you soon.
